Gil Polanco has been playing drums for more than a couple of years. After a stint with Maximum Slap in Oak Harbor, Washington, he went to Bloomington, MN and formed The Whitinos with Shawn and Brian in 1992. Since then, he has performed with numerous acts (as well as The Whitinos) in Australia, United Arab Emirates, Tasmania, California, Minnesota, and his San Antonio Texas home.
Since Shawn & Brian live in Minnesota, Gil keeps busy playing with True Stories, The Lesti Huff Band, and Eddie & The Allniters in San Antonio. He has performed with numerous artists such as Los #3 Dinners, The Blazers, The Lavens, Julianne Banks, The Trebel Makers, Glenn Allan, Suprize Package, The Flames Of Red, Swamp Angels, and 501 Blues.
Gil joined a host of San Antonio musicians to pay tribute to Robert Johnson on Bexar Nekkid Records cd "Hot Tamales" which is available at Amazon.com. He plays on the song "They're Red Hot" which features several of Texas' top musicians. He can also be heard on True Stories' CD "Estilo San Antonio" as well as The Lavens' "Sibling Rivalry" now available via the internet and other locations.
